“The Best Ride” by Natalie

Natalie Rowland is the second person to complete the optional challenge of scrap lifting Pat’s layout of “Aunt Ivy”.

Angela Styles has also completed a layout but I will share that with you when I get some nice clear photos. Angela has made a beautiful vintage layout.

Natalie has cleverly used the design but given it a totally modern twist to suit her family photo:

nr1

Rather than a cluster of flowers Natalie has used some bright buttons. I love all the the bright colours and patterns Natalie has used.

nr2

Natalie cut her hexagons using the cricut machine, and used the computer to directly print her journaling onto one of them:

nr3

This was Pat’s original layout as a quick reminder. You can see how Natlaie has used it for her inspiration:

Well done to both Angela and Natalie for so quickly completing the scrap club challenge. The final session of scrap club for this month  is on Monday evening 13th May.

Far & Away

We will be using this fabulous new collection “Far & Away” for scrap club in June. The theme will be “Travel” and we will be using a selection of these brand new patterened papers from Teresa Collins.

All the 12×12 papers are double sided.   There are cut apart journaling blocks:

Also a 12×12 die cut sheet:

Plus the 6×6 pads:

In addition we have a wide range of co-ordinating embellishments.

I chose this collection because it will go with any holiday photos with it’s general travel theme, and the colours are modern yet neutral.

I hope you will also enjoy using it at scrap club, and with lots of your holiday memories.

“Aunty Ivy” by Pat

As promised, here is the vintage themed layout made by our Pat which is this months scrap club optional challenge. Have a go at scrap lifting Pat’s design!

Have a look at all the different elements:

So – lots of different details to be inspired by and to include on your creations. Remember a scraplift does not have to be a copy – it is a starting point for your own creation!

Thanks Pat for getting us started….

“Happy Days” by Vicki

I have a fantastic layout to share today that has been created by Vicki Ball for our optional scrap club challenge.  The photo is Vicki’s dad, and Vicki has included lots of the elements from April scrap club.

happy-1

Love the circular photo mat, and the button flowers:

happy4

The tags radiant from the centre, and Vicki has cut her title in the same colour card as her background but used a fine liner to outline the letters as we did in class:

happy5

Vicki has stitched a frame around all four sides of her page:

happy6

And added ink spots and “confetti” with tiny gems:

happy-2

Vicki has punched tabs for her journaling tags so all the design elements have been included.

Love your take on the design Vicki, and I especially love the soft colours you have used. Great work, and thanks for sharing.

May Scrap Club

This month our layout has a bit of a vintage feel although I happen to have used photos of my children on my two sample pages, who are definitely not vintage yet! I have used one 6×4 portrait photo on each layout, but it is a flexible design which can be varied depending on what you want to use.

There will ba choice of kits. Some are definitely feminine in feel, and the others more masculine – although there are flowers in both kits!

Here are lots of sneak peaks from the two layouts – all mixed up and in no order – so I hope they give you an intriguing glimpse to what we will be making.

s1 s2 s3 s4

The masculine title, but with a couple of other combinations you could make with the kit:

s5 s6

The feminine kit title. The alternative in the kit is “A Perfect Day”.

s7 s8 s9 s10

s11

Patterned papers are from Prima and Kaisercraft.

s12 s13 s14

I hope you like what you see. If you have not booked yet please give us a ring on 01844 208996 or email us on info@amazeofmemories.com. We do need to know as the kits contain a lot of different elements so we need time to put them together!

You can view the class list here with all the dates and times of scrap club sessions:

Equipment you can bring if you have it (although we do have everything needed in the craft room) – Distressing tool, eyelet setter, small hole punch.

“Our Sunshine” by Heidi

Heidi Schleimer has made her optional layout for our scrap club challenge. All the patterned paper is from Doodlebug. Heidi has moved the strips from the original design so they look like rays of sunshine. The title is on the circular “sun”.

sunshine-1

Heidi has added some pretty flowers die cut using her Cheery Lyn dies. I love the way that they have been shaped and gently coloured with ink for extra definition. The leaves and swirl have been cut from co-ordinating patterned paper.

sunshine-2

Heidi has also used some cut outs from the Simple Stories baby collection to add a sub title:sunshine-3

The little cut out journaling card is perfect for some hand written journaling:

sunshine-4

What a sweet page, and what a sweet little granddaughter Heidi has.

“Night Out” & “My Girls”

I have two layouts to share that have been made for our optional scrap club challenge using the design from February.

This first page has been made by Tessa Miller and features her little grandchildren. Tessa has stamped and then heat embossed pale pink swirls onto her background card.

sc-my-girls-1

Tessa has hand made these gorgeous flower. Amazing isn’t it!

sc-my-girls-2

Tessa has also added die cut swirls (Tim Holtz die) which have also been covered in the same embossing powder so they have a great texture.

sc-my-girls-3

The tag pulls out with Tessa’s journaling. A really lovely page to showcase such a fabulous photo.

sc-my-girls-lo-tessa

The next page has been made by Michelle Hobbs using a photo from her teenage years in 1975!

sc-night-our-michelle

Michelle has used a beautiful Spellbinders die-lites swirl for two of her corners:

sc-night-out-2

Michelle has added stamped swirls and a die cut sparkly flower. The title has been cut from the same gold glittery card.

sc-night-out-3

Two lovely pages with the same starting point but have turned out so differently. Thanks Tessa and Michelle for sharing them with us.

Carolyn’s Creations!

Two more layouts to share today, both inspired by our scrap club design, and both made by our Carolyn.

Carolyn has included the tag she made with Lindsay Mason on Saturday on this first page! What a great idea. Rather than use ink splatters on this page Carolyn has used a mask in the left hand corners.

cw1

Here is a close up of the tag with Lindsay’s Do Lally Pip character “Hopeful Harriet” – complete with bunches. The same as Carolyn’s daughter in the photo!

cw2

The second layout celebrates some-one else special to Carolyn – her handsome cat Harry. I like the blue background and mix of patterned papers that Carolyn has used…

cw3

…and I love Carolyn’s  title strip. And that “PURFECT” is NOT a spelling mistake!

cw4

The pull out journaling tags have some extra stamping on them to tie in with the theme of the page.

cw5

Thanks Carolyn for sharing your two layouts. I love both your takes on our initial scrap club inspiration.

“Egg Hunt” – An Alternative Scrap Club Design!

I have another layout to share based on this months scrap club design. I have included all the hot current trends but just arranged elements on the page a little differently.

egg-1

I added a large swirly corner which I had left over from another project. I added a punched bunny with an Easter egg shaped brad.

egg-2

More Easter egg brads  along one of the banner strips – plus lots of stitching.

egg-3

More stitching – and a die cut title.

egg-4

The words egg hunt have been cut with the Hero Arts alphabet dies.

egg-5

I added lots of ink splatters and “confetti”.

egg-6

I rather like this variation. What do you think?

Scrap Club Clever Variations!

Lots more ideas to share. I snapped these layouts as they were being made at scrap club as I loved all the variations our clever scrappers were coming up with!

Karen Ballentine stitched her title strip to the background:

sc-10

sc9

Caroline Ebsworth added ink splatters to the title strip itself:

sc11

Carolines daughter home from uni ink splattered the letters, and added stitching behind:…

sc12

I also like the way there are extra little stitches on the layout:

sc13

I especially liked the little patch:

sc14 sc15

Katie Craig added a sprinkling of pearls to her title strip:

sc16 sc17

Brenda had never stitched on a layout before so this was a first for her!

sc18

Great stitching and I like the way that Brenda has added an extra photo on the pull out tag. 10/10 for finishing her journaling too!

sc19

Bethan Joy used two colours of thread in on one line of stitching for a fun effect:

sc20

Our Pat, as usual, has added lots of extras to her page and it looks fantastic!

sc21

Pat has added doodling and faux stitching ….

sc22

….and flowers and gems to the patterned paper too!

sc23

Pat includes stitching on all her pages so was in her element this month. I LOVE all the different stitches that Pat has included

sc24

And our youngest scrapper this month was Amy who will be 9 next month. Amy is  Sue Sheltrums’ granddaughter. Amy completed the layout and included some Easter ribbon she had bought with her, plus two photos.. Great work Amy!

 sc-amy

I hope you have also enjoyed seeing some of the different colour schemes we put together for the kits. I really enjoyed seeing how everyone’s pages turned out.

I have snapped the first optional challenge that has been completed so will have more layouts to share over the coming week.
