Stunning Snowflakes!

Today I have two clever Christmas cards to share, both made by Michelle Hobbs. Michelle has used a set of Spellbinder snowflake dies to cut out her snowflakes, embossed them and then added some blue ink whilst the card was still in the die. This gives a lovely dimensional effect. Some subtle patterned paper and a nice verse completes the card.

By using the negative space left from cutting out her snowflakes Michelle has created a second card. This time the patterned paper is layered below, and the white panel added to the front on some foam pads for some depth and shadow.

Spellbinders have released several snowflake die sets in the last couple of years, which we have available in the shop.

We also have their very latest set in stock too.

Using the negative waste from punching or die cutting is a great technique. We used it recently to create a butterfly card at our “Simply Elegant” workshop. Why not have a look at your dies and punches and see if you can create a card using the negative left overs! We would love to see what you create. And thank you Michelle for the inspiration. Both your cards are lovely.
